Privacy Policy

Last updated: 9 July 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how ResumeBloke ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, stores, and discloses your personal information when you use resumebloke.com (the "Service").

ResumeBloke is operated under the name ResumeBloke, based in Australia. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). Where applicable, we also aim to align with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) for users in those jurisdictions.

Plain-English summary: Your resume is built in your browser. To create your PDF/Word file, your content is sent to our server and may pass through temporary files during generation — but these are deleted afterward, and we don't keep a lasting copy of your resume. We don't sell your data. We use trusted providers (Stripe, Cloudflare, Google, Meta, and Anthropic) to run the Service.

1. What information we collect

Resume content you provide. When you upload or paste a resume (or enter details manually), that content is processed to build your resume. It is handled primarily in your browser during editing, and sent to our server to generate your downloadable documents (see Section 2 for how this is handled and retained).

Payment information. When you make a purchase, payment is processed by Stripe. We do not collect or store your card number or full payment details — Stripe handles these directly. We store only a payment/session identifier to confirm your purchase and unlock your download.

Email address. If you provide an email (e.g. for a receipt), we use it only for that purpose.

Usage and analytics data. We collect anonymous usage data (pages visited, actions taken, purchase events) via Google Analytics 4 and Meta Pixel to understand how the Service is used and to measure our advertising. This data does not include your resume content or, to our knowledge, personally identifying information.

Cookies and similar technologies. We use cookies for analytics and advertising measurement (including Meta's fbp/fbc cookies). See Section 8.

2. How we handle your resume data (important)

  • Your resume content is processed in your browser and held in your current session while you build and preview your resume.
  • When you generate a downloadable PDF or Word document, your content is transmitted to our server (Cloudflare Workers + a headless rendering engine) to produce the file. During generation, your content may be written to temporary files on the server.
  • These temporary files exist only for the duration of generating your document and are not retained afterward — we do not keep your resume content in any long-term database or permanent storage.
  • We do not store a lasting copy of your finished resume, and we do not use your resume content to train AI models (see Section 3 regarding AI features you choose to use).

3. AI-powered features

If you use our AI features (resume rewrite, cover letter, or LinkedIn summary), the relevant content is sent to our third-party AI provider, Anthropic (the Claude API), to generate the output. Anthropic does not use data submitted through its API to train its models, and does not retain it for training purposes.

4. How we use your information

We use your information to:

  • Provide the Service (build, preview, and generate your resume documents);
  • Process payments and deliver your purchased downloads;
  • Send you transactional emails (e.g. receipts);
  • Measure and improve the Service and our advertising;
  • Comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information.

5. Who we share your information with

We share data only with the service providers necessary to operate the Service ("data processors"):

ProviderPurposeData involved
StripePayment processingPayment/card data (handled by Stripe directly)
CloudflareHosting, document generation, emailTransient resume content for generation; email
Google (Analytics 4)Usage analyticsAnonymous usage/event data
MetaAdvertising measurementAnonymous event data + advertising cookies
Anthropic (Claude API)AI resume/cover-letter/LinkedIn featuresContent you submit to those features (not retained for training)

Some of these providers may process data outside Australia (e.g. in the United States). By using the Service, you consent to this transfer. We take reasonable steps to ensure these providers handle your data securely.

We may also disclose information if required by law.

6. Data retention

  • Resume data: deleted immediately after your session ends.
  • Generated PDFs and Word documents: not stored on our servers — they are generated on demand, delivered directly to you, and not retained afterwards.
  • Payment records: retained by Stripe per their policy.

7. Data security

We take reasonable steps to protect your information. Payments are handled by Stripe (PCI-DSS compliant). Our infrastructure runs on Cloudflare. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Cookies

We use:

  • Essential cookies — required for the Service to function (e.g. remembering your session/purchase).
  • Analytics cookies — Google Analytics 4, to understand usage.
  • Advertising cookies — Meta (fbp/fbc), to measure our advertising.

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling some cookies may affect how the Service works.

9. Your rights

Under the Australian Privacy Act (and, where applicable, GDPR), you have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you;
  • Request correction of inaccurate information;
  • Request deletion of your information (subject to legal exceptions);
  • Complain about how we handle your information.

Because we generally don't store your resume content, there is often little personal information for us to hold. To exercise any right, contact us at info@resumebloke.com.

If you're not satisfied with our response, you may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.

10. Children's privacy

The Service is not intended for anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the latest version. Material changes will be posted on this page.
